Joss Whedon 'wants Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Broadway'

Joss Whedon has expressed interest in developing Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Broadway.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer ran from 1997 to 2003, and starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as a super-powered young woman who battled vampires, demons and the forces of darkness. Whedon, who created the series, told audiences at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con that he hopes to revamp the show into a stage production on Broadway.

"I can't say that I will, or that by the time I try to, anyone would want me to, but yeah, I think [Buffy] belongs there," he said.

Whedon also praised the ensemble cast of his superhero team-up film The Avengers, which includes Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth.

"What I find is that these characters mesh through these differences really well," he added. "And what I also find is these actors have a great time playing against each other, and they are, as a troupe, actually a much better team than the Avengers are."

Evans recently insisted that the Marvel Comics franchise is definitely in the right hands with Whedon, describing the director as "unbelievable".

In June, Ruffalo confirmed that The Avengers will not be shooting in 3D.

The Avengers is due in US and UK cinemas on May 4, 2012

Puis, Joss, si l'idée d'un film sans les acteurs est ridicule, je vois pas comment une pièce sans les acteurs seraient mieux

hum, pourquoi pas. Si c'est bien pensé et travaillé pourquoi pas? n'importe quoi peut-être joué de cette façon si c'est fait sérieusement, et non pas juste pour surfer sur un succès (genre le film)
