Maigre consolation…
ABB Et EW en parle : - Citation :
- Buffy‘s kid sister as Bella? That’s what Michelle Trachtenberg claimed nearly happened. The Gossip Girl star formerly known as Dawn Summers says she was up for the role of Bella Swan in Twilight. “There was definitely interest here and there because there’s only so few pale girls in Hollywood,” she quipped. See how Trachtenberg came about the near-miss — and imagine Twilight without Kristen Stewart — after the jump.
Trachtenberg said she knew Twilight helmer Catherine Hardwicke from when the director was in pre-production for Thirteen. “I was actually supposed to star in that, but I was onBuffy at the time,” she explained. So when it came time to cast Edward Cullen’s love interest, Hardwicke turned back to Trachtenberg. Alas, “I guess schedules never worked out,” said Trachtenberg. Though she didn’t seem too broken up about it: “I already have Buffy. I’ve already done the vampire thing.”
Just for funsies, let’s allow this imaginary world to play out. As anyone who’s seen Georgina Sparks in action, Trachtenberg can bring a deliciously evil flare to her work. Try to picture Trachten-Bella holding her tongue as Robert Pattinson’s Edward covered his face at the scent of her. And how would she read physically? Stewart has certainly grown more beautiful with each Twilight (with the notable exception of — SPOILER — her anorexic zombie look in the final half of Breaking Dawn — Part 1), but part of her allure in the first film was that she did have a sort of plain-Jane look that worked with Bella’s niggling insecurities. Would Trachten-Bella be too pretty? Finally, Trachtenberg definitely wouldn’t bring K-Stew’s multitude of tics to the table. Would you miss Stewart’s constant hair mussing, for example, or would you say good riddance?
Can you imagine Trachtenberg headlining Twilight, PopWatchers? What do you think she would have brought to the role? Would she have the same chemistry with Pattinson? What would you miss about Stewart’s performance? http://popwatch.ew.com/2011/12/02/michelle-trachtenberg-considered-for-twilight/

- Citation :
- To many she is still most famous for playing the little sister of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
But Michelle Trachtenberg has revealed her life could have been so much different, as she almost landed a leading role in the record breaking Twilight Saga.
But despite being chums with the first vampire romance flick's director Catherine Hardwicke, she ended up missing out on the role of Bella Swan because 'schedules never worked out.'
She revealed she had been considered for a role in US Weekly adding: 'There was definitely interest here and there because there's only so few pale girls in Hollywood.
'I've known Catherine Hardwicke since the movie Thirteen.
'I was actually supposed to star in that, but I was on Buffy at the time.'
Unfortunately lightning struck twice for the starlet, who had a recurring role in Gossip Girl and starred in little known TV film The Circuit when the future blockbuster was in the works.
She said being in demand for television work ultimately cost her, and added she is trying to not dwell on the matter and is is instead focusing on the future.
She said: 'I guess schedules never worked out.
'I already have Buffy. I've already done the vampire thing.
'[Dwelling on a hypothetical situation means] you're not living in the moment and you're looking negatively at what you're doing now.'
How Michelle would have fared as Bella Swan in place of Kristin Stewart will never be known.
But the flick's dedicated fans have already started debating the issue.
One diehard Hannia Milena Diaz said: 'She's great but I don't feel she had that Bella element.'
But Heather Altman said: 'Kristen Stewart is a terrible actress. I think Michelle is a lot prettier too, and Bella is definitely a pretty girl in the books.'
But despite losing out, things are not going so badly for Michelle.
Earlier this year she featured on dark Showtime comedy Weeds, while she is starring alongside Seth Green in upcoming film Sexy Evil Genius. Source
