D.B Woodside dans Emily Owens. M.D.

The CW has tapped “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” alum D.B. Woodside for a recurring role on its medical drama “Emily Owens, M.D.”

On Friday, The Hollywood Reporter broke the casting news that Woodside would be appearing on the show for multiple episodes as Evan, the husband to Dr. Gina Bandari (Necar Zadegan). So far, not much is known about Dr. Bandari, other than the fact that she is not a fan of Emily’s (Mamie Gummer) since the intern has made some pretty big mistakes in her boss’s eyes.

“Emily Owens, M.D.” centers on Emily and other surgical residents working at Denver Memorial Hospital under Dr. Bandari’s guidance. While Emily had been looking forward to starting a new chapter of her life, she was quickly dismayed to learn that the hospital is not that different from high school.

Woodside might be best known for his “Buffy” role as Sunnydale’s Principal Wood. The actor has also appeared in “24,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Numbers,” “Private Practice,” “Castle,” “Hellcats” and most recently on NBC’s “Parenthood.”

“Emily Owens, M.D.” airs Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. CST on The CW.
