Alyson Hannigan has obtained a restraining order against a man who she says repeatedly threatened to harm her and her family.
In court documents obtained by E! News, the "How I Met Your Mother" star alleges that a "mentally unstable" New Hampshire man posted to Facebook and on a fan site that he would kill both her and husband, actor Alexis Denisof. Hannigan and Denisof met on the set of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

The man, 43 year-old John Hobbs, has possessed a pistol permit since 2000 and was recently discharged from a mental hospital, according to the documents. A judge has ordered that Hobbs must stay at least 100 yards away from Hannigan, Denisof and their two daughters Satyana and Keeva, and is banned from writing anything about them online.
"In 2013 I still can marry you tomorrow." Read a creepy Facebook post by Hobbs included in the court filing, "I can kill you tomorrow too. Cause I simply like and love you as you live life. Aly... It doesn't end. Even after death."

The chilling words didn't stop there.
"Going to the casinos and a trip to Ca this year…So Alexis, I guess this means you better watch your wife, a little bit more than normal," he reportedly wrote in another Facebook posting.

According to E! police went to Hobbs' home in New Hampshire, where he "fully acknowledged his interest" in Hannigan, and agreed to go to a mental health clinic, though he still planned to visit the actress in California.
