- Boom! Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans may now officially start foaming at the mouth: Sarah Michelle Gellar is coming back to TV, and she's ready to kick some ass again. Vulture has learned that CBS just gave a pilot greenlight to Ringer, an hourlong thriller that will star the ex-Slayer as a troubled young lass on the run from the mob. She assumes the life of her wealthy twin sister, only to find out that said sibling has a bounty on her head as well. If we're understanding this right, SMG will actually get to play both roles, which could be all sorts of fun. Ringer is from Supernatural writers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder; Gellar will serve as a co-executive producer on the project, which is being produced by ABC Television Studios and CBS Television Studios. It's Gellar's first TV show since Buffy left the air in 2003. She had been attached to an HBO project that didn't work out and has mostly been focusing on other small features in recent years, but most importantly her family.

^^ http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/01/26/sarah-michelle-gellar-ringer/ - Citation :
Sarah Michelle Gellar's new CBS thriller pilot 'Ringer': The producer spills details! -- EXCLUSIVE by Tanner Stransky The networks have been on a pilot-greenlighting tear lately. But which possible show has the potential to be a gem of the 2011-12 season? We’ll go out on a limb here: CBS’ in-the-works thriller Ringer, which—should the pilot get the pickup to series during May’s network upfronts—would mark the much-anticipated return of Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar to regular series television. Granted, Gellar acolytes have been titillated by her possible return before with HBO’s The Wonderful Maladys, only to have the pilot never make it to series. But alas, the potential seems to be there with Ringer. Until now, the show has only been described as drama about “a troubled young woman on the run who hides out by living the life of her wealthy twin sister, until she learns her sibling’s life has a bounty on it as well.” Rather vague. Are you dying for more details? Us, too, so we tracked down Peter Traugott, the pilot’s producer and head of Brillstein Entertainment Partners, the production company behind Ringer, and grilled him about the pilot. Here, Traugott spills more about Ringer’s plot, its enviable star Sarah Michelle Gellar and getting her to come back to network television (she wanted to do cable!), and why the show is indeed a good fit for CBS.
WHAT IS RINGER EXACTLY? “It’s a thriller, for sure,” Traugott explains. “It’s an edgy thriller about redemption and about revenge. There’s a point of view of two twin sisters who grew apart over a tragedy in their past. And one now seeks redemption and the other one seeks revenge. The sister who is seeking redemption has had a much more troubled life. When her fancy pants sister disappears, she takes over her life. She’s living the life of her more successful sister only to come to find out that her life is equally as fraught with danger and complication. Her sister dies in a boating accident. The other sister takes on her persona, only to come to find out that they have a hit out on her.”
WHY CAST SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR? HOW’D YOU GET HER TO COME BACK TO NETWORK TV? “Sarah had started thinking about coming back to TV a couple of years ago and she really wanted it to be something in cable,” Traugott explains. “In part just because of the subject matter you’re able to do in cable. But network television now has cracked that door a little bit and they’ve obviously been doing great stuff in network—and great stuff in cable. Both places are great. And this was a spec script that we had found and my colleague, Rachel Kaplan, had found by these young writers [Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder of The CW's Supernatural] and we flipped for it. Sarah’s manager got it to her, and she fell in love with the piece, too. We had been talking about this group for over a year trying to figure this out. For Sarah, she wasn’t really sure about network just because she wasn’t sure she would get what she wanted. When CBS read this thing and flipped for it and loved Sarah for it, that kind of started her thinking about being more open-minded to doing network because of the subject matter and this piece that she was so excited about.”
DOES GELLAR PLAY BOTH SISTERS ROLES? Yes! “She plays two characters: One is Bridget, the sister who takes over Siobhan’s life—Siobhan’s the other sister. The sisters reunite after having been estranged for a long time, and when they reunite, Siobhan dies. She falls…you know, in a boating accident.” So it’s like Hayley Mills of Lindsay Lohan in The Parent Trap and its more modern remake? “Yeah,” Traugott admit, with a laugh. “That’s kind of a comedic reference, and a reference old old Westerns—yeah, Sarah’s playing both roles.”
IF SIOBHAN DIES EARLY, DO WE SEE HER IN FLASHBACKS—OR WHAT? Yes, exactly. “You’ll see her that way. Not necessarily tonally nor stylistically, but the show comparable to Damages. I love Damages—by the way, it’s my favorite show—but in the same way that Damages tells part of the story in the present, through the past. Not just flashbacks but through actual stories in the past. That’s what’s happening here. Hopefully if we go to series, the audience will come to understand what the fall out was between Siobhan and Bridget. Why Siobhan would never want to see her sister again, why Bridget was in a kind of dark place in her life—all that stuff will be told as we move forward in Bridget’s stories through flashbacks with Siobhan.
WILL BUFFY FANS BE PLEASED WITH THIS ROLE FOR GELLAR? Duh: yes! “For the Buffy fans, she wanted part of what she initiated. As a matter of fact, her and her manager know this, but I know one thing she wanted to guard against was making sure that she whatever she does in TV, she does something that her fans who had grown up loving Buffy will also be excited about. And we think this show has that quality to it.
HOW WILL THIS PLEASE BUFFY FANS EXACTLY? “It’s a very different show. I mean, Buffy is so specific and a great, cool genre piece,” Traugott says. “But in the same way with Sarah, I think what’s remarkable about her as an actor—and very few people have this ability—she can play both sides well. If you remember Cruel Intentions, she was the villain, but you found yourself kind of rooting for her anyway. That’s what we’re looking for. How do we find something where her character has some edge, there’s some darkness to her, she doesn’t always do the right thing, but at the end of the day, you’re also rooting for her? And that’s what we were looking for in this. Obviously, Buffy was a hero, a kick-ass hero, and we wanted to be true to that with Sarah.”
IS GELLAR’S BRIDGET SUPPOSED TO BE A HEROINE? “It’s not like that, no,” Traugott clarifies. “I wouldn’t say that. It’s not that kind of a show. It’s more of a thriller. But we think it shows a lot of different layers to Sarah, and her character is so interesting and compelling. Very different from the Buffy character, but there’s a lot there for the audience to grab onto.
WHAT’S THE FORMAT? PROCEDURAL? SERIALIZED? “There’s an overriding arc that the writers have kind of figured out for the first several seasons, if we get so lucky,” Traugott says. “But there’s an overriding arc in part of Bridget’s drive of trying to figure out who is trying to kill Siobhan and now her, in Siobhan’s shoes. And week in and week out we will be telling episodic stories, relationship stories, hopefully wish-fulfilling kind of stories, because she is living this kind of fantastical life all the while trying to figure out who’s after her. She’ll be with Siobhan’s husband, which is obviously new to her because she’s in a relationship with a man she doesn’t know but he thinks he knows her. She’ll be dealing with Siobhan’s friends, and they’ll be trying to kind of safe-crack this mystery.”
WHAT OPENED THE DOOR FOR A SHOW LIKE THIS ON CBS? HOW DOES IT FIT THAT BRAND? “You know, to read the script, you would not have thought CBS, but I think when [CBS’ entertainment president] Nina Tassler and her team read it and flipped for it, and we came in and talked about it, they had passion for this. They talk a lot about The Good Wife and how, a couple of years ago, you wouldn’t have thought that the The Good Wife was a CBS show. But you go from a CSI kind of a show—a pure procedural—to The Good Wife, which has a procedural element but it’s obviously very character-driven and has a lot of great story and characters on it. Hopefully, if we do it right, Ringer can be the next evolution of that. That is, on paper it’s not necessarily a CBS show but worked exceedingly well in that Good Wife way.”
WHAT’S THE PILOT’S PRODUCTION SCHEDULE LIKE? “We’re just ramping up now where we’re getting into casting, we’re getting into pre-production stuff, we’re getting into director,” Traugott says. “All of our stuff is starting now. The goal would be to shoot—you know, like all the other pilots—sometime in early to mid March.”
WHY IS GELLAR PERFECT FOR THIS ROLE? “I’m just a fan of Sarah’s,” Traugott says. “I’m excited that there’s a piece of material she’s excited about and obviously as a producer, I wanna get this show on the air, and as a big fan of Sarah’s, I just want to watch her on TV again. It seems like America wants to, and it seems like CBS was a fan from what I saw. Hopefully if we do our jobs right we’ll have an opportunity. We’re excited. She’s iconic.”

- So this past week was my first week of interning in Hollywood! You might think being an intern is all about coffee runs, making copies and essentially doing nothing - but my internship is the complete opposite!
My first week at Mark Saks Casting was a really exciting one! Mark is the casting director for the television show The Good Wife in NYC and previously did the casting for the shows Medium and Numb3rs. In LA, Mark is currently casting for a new CBS pilot titled Ringer. And Ringer just so happens to be SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR's return to t.v.!!! Sarah plays the main character on Ringer - who is a twin so she actually plays two characters! Since Sarah loved the script so much, she also signed on to be a producer - which means she's in the office A LOT!! I know her on a first name basis and she's one of the nicest and most personable people. :) When she first came into the office, I had no idea she was coming in so when I walked into the conference room and she was sitting at the table, I was very surprised to say the least!
So not only am I now friendly with Sarah Michelle Gellar, but I also got to see some fantastic actors this week! On Wednesday, we had a producer session in the afternoon. For half of the auditions I stayed at my desk to answer phones and the second half I taped auditions in the conference room! When I was sitting at my desk Nestor Serrano, from 90210, came into the office and asked me where the restroom was (almost every actor asked - I think it's part of their ritual to prepare themselves for auditions).
Nestor Serrano
When I was still at my desk, Cara Buono from my favorite show on t.v. - MAD MEN - came in and I couldn't resist saying something to her about the show. When she asked me where the restroom was I told her that I loved her work on the show and I think she was really surprised that I said something to her. She was just on this past season of Mad Men, so she doesn't get recognized that much but she said it has been happening and she forgets its because of the show. She also asked me my name and shook my hand - very very cool! I've been dying to meet someone from Mad Men so I was extremely excited when she came in!
Cara Buono Then, Nestor Carbonell from LOST came in and I actually got to record him auditioning with Sarah! We auditioned a lot of other people that day, and most of them I at least recognized even if I couldn't place where I had seen them.
Nestor Carbonell Not only did I see/meet Sarah and a lot of actors, I also got to meet the writers and producers of Ringer. The writers, Eric and Nicole, are absolutely wonderful people and they're script/story is phenomenal. I absolutely love television dramas and Ringer is the type of show that I'm dying to see on t.v.!!
On Friday, I experienced my first morning of pre-reads which are sessions with lesser known actors who we screen to see if they are worth showing to the writers and producers. For pre-reads, I read lines with each actor in Mark's office. Yup, just me, Mark and the actor! It was really fun to "act" a little bit while reading with the actors. I even got to read with Sterling Sulieman, who has been on a couple episodes of the CW show The Vampire Diaries!! ( I recognized him as soon as he walked into the office!) Sterling Sulieman
On Friday afternoon we had another producer session and I got to record all of the auditions! Again, most of the people who came in I at least recognized so it was another exciting day. Especially when Jack Davenport from Pirates of the Caribbean came in!
Jack Davenport As Norrington in Pirates of the Caribbean!
Also, on Friday when I did a Starbucks coffee run for the producers I saw Julie Benz from ABC's No Ordinary Family outside a soundstage taking a break from filming! She was in costume - a dressy pantsuit - but wearing Ugg boots!
Julie Benz is the blonde! Outside of work this week, I went to a writers event in Beverly Hills with some Ithaca classmates. The writers at the event were all nominated for either an Academy Award or a WGA (Writer's Guild of America) Award! The event was a panel discussion with these writers that talked about their processes, inspirations, how long they worked on the scripts, etc. For me, as a writer, it was the coolest thing I've been to in LA! In attendance were the writers of The Fighter, The Town, The Kids Are All Right, The Social Network, Black Swan and I Love You, Philip Morris. The writers are famous to me, but if you're not a writer than you probably wouldn't know them, but one writer in particular is very famous - AARON SORKIN!! He wrote one draft of The Social Network and that's the script the director shot! He also wrote and produced the hit t.v. drama The West Wing. I learned a lot at the panel and I look forward to being a nominated writer someday!
Other than the Superbowl this weekend, I went out to breakfast with two of my roommates to The Griddle. It's a fantastic place for pancakes and french toast and tons of celebrities go there (a favorite of Jessica Alba!). We got pancakes that had baked apples and cinnamon inside - delicious! :)
So, as you can see another week is over but it was probably the greatest one so far!! I'm glad you all are enjoying keeping up with my LA life!
Until next time... - Alayna

The Pilot Pirate: "Wonder Woman" and "Ringer "
Pilot: Ringer (drama) Writers: Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder Network: CBS Logline: A troubled young woman on the run hides out by living the life of her wealthy twin sister, until she learns her sibling’s life has a bounty on it as well. Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), Nestor Carbonell (Lost), Mike Colter (The Good Wife), Tara Summers (Damages) Director: Richard Shepard (Criminal Minds)
The characters: Bridget Cafferty (Gellar) Siobhan Marx (Gellar) Victor Machado, FBI agent (Carbonell) Jimmy, Wyoming cop Andrew Marx, Siobhan's husband (Gruffudd) Gemma, Siobhan's BFF (Summers) Henry, Gemma's husband Malcolm Howard, Bridget's sponsor Juliet, Andrew's teenage daughter Bodaway Macawi, The Big Bad
This is the perfect project for Gellar's return to TV. The tight script is a real thriller that will deservedly put Gellar back in the spotlight as she plays twin sisters Siobhan and Bridget. What's amazing about this project is that it's equal parts crime thriller and domestic drama, and all the story lines are interweaved seamlessly and smartly.
On the crime thriller side, Bridget is a recovering drug addict who witnessed a brutal slaying at a strip club in which she was employed and is in protective custody ahead of crime boss Bodaway Macawi's trial, for which she serves as the key witness. If convicted, Macawi faces the death penalty.
Bridget escapes and flees Wyoming, heading for an East Hampton reunion with her estranged sister, Siobhan, who on paper has it all: handsome and successful husband Andrew (Gruffudd) and multiple homes filled with fine art and designer furniture.
After all signs point to Siobhan drowning in the ocean — only one of her trademarked designer scarves remains — Bridget opts to assume her identity instead of risking being found by the FBI and Macawi — but eventually finds that Siobhan also had her share of enemies out to permanently silence her as well.
On the domestic side, Bridget shares a tight bond with her Narcotics Anonymous sponsor, Malcolm, and, acting as Siobhan, also hits it off with her sister's best friend, Gemma, whose husband Henry is having an affair with the real Siobhan. To make matters worse, Bridget also finds herself falling for Andrew, who wasn't aware that his wife had a twin sister. Confused? Don't be. The script is easy to follow and moral and ethical boundaries are explored — and broken — in a compelling fashion.
The dialogue is sharp and witty and, even without the words of Joss Whedon and company, will be perfect for Gellar's classic Buffy-like dry and sarcastic delivery. Of all the high-profile pilots looking for a spot on the fall and midseason schedule, CBS' Ringer is the most promising among them. As Buffy would say, it's dark and twisty and just what you'd want for your favorite Slayer.
Oh, and there's room for a lesbian role: Henry and Gemma's nanny is a lesbian.
Weekly Pilot outlook: Better than two Xanders.
Look for ABC's Pan Am and NBC's Amber Heard starrer Playboy in next week's Pilot Pirate. How do Wonder Woman and Ringer sound to you? Source

- EXCLUSIVE: Sarah Michelle Gellar's 'The Ringer' To Get Picked Up By CW
By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Friday May 13, 2011
Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to primetime as her CBS pilot Ringer is being picked up to series. But in a surprising twist, the series is going to CBS' sibling CW. With its serialized nature and young skew, Ringer is probably better suited for the CW. And it brings back Gellar to the network that replaced the the WB and UPN, the two weblets which aired her breakout series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The acquisition marks a pretty inventive first programming move by new CW president Mark Pedowitz, who was brought in to shake things up. MORE Source

| Une review du pilote: - Citation :
- Test Pilot is a semiregular feature sharing my first impressions of the pilots for next season's shows. These aren't reviews, since these pilots can be rewritten, recast and retooled before airing, and the shows that eventually get on the air can prove much better or worse. But premature opinions are why God invented the Internet, so let's get on with...
The Show: Ringer, The CW
The Premise: Sarah Michelle Gellar is Bridget, an ex-stripper and ex-addict trying to turn her life around. And Sarah Michelle Gellar is Siobhan, her rich, fabulous twin sister, who has made a point of making sure that no one in her life knows that there is a Bridget. When Siobhan goes missing, Bridget seizes the chance to take over her identity, and discovers that Siobhan's life is far more complicated--and dangerous--than she expected.
First Impressions: Ringer really doubles down on the identical-twins premise in the early going, and here's where I have to stress the "this is a preliminary pilot" part of the review. The scenes between Gellar and, um, herself have to carry a lot of weight but come across stilted and stunt-like--but it's hard to tell how much is the CGI and how much is Gellar's performance. Beyond that, the action- and intrigue-heavy pilot has a lot of potential for twists and thrills. But it ambitiously aims more for noir chills than soapy fun, so its success will depend on how well it sell Bridget's character emotionally amid a far-fetched premise. (Which, to be fair, Gellar did once in Buffy.)
Do I Want to Watch Another Episode? As you can see above, I am of two minds. But more than usual, I want to see a final version of the pilot first. Source

- One of the most highly anticipated new shows of the fall is Ringer, which signals Sarah Michelle Gellar's return to primetime television in the dual roles of identical twin sisters, each with secrets. When one takes over the other's life, things get even more complicated.
In the new drama, Gellar plays estranged twin sisters, Bridget and Siobhan. When, after reconnecting, Bridget believes Siobhan to be dead, she takes over her sister's life because she's on the run. Meanwhile, Siobhan had her own secrets, and Bridget's going to discover that taking over her identical twin sister's life may not have been a good idea and may, in fact, make things worse for her.
According to E! Online, "producers are looking for someone to play a housekeeper who knows something is up with the switcherooed twins." It seemed that it was only a matter of time before someone on Ringer would grow suspicious. It's not like Bridget and Siobhan were super close before (in fact, no one knew Siobhan has a twin sister, which is why Bridget can take over her life), so there's bound to be more than a couple of slip-ups on Bridget's part in her sister's family. But with all the secrets on this show, what will someone becoming suspicious mean for Bridget's safety?
Will you be watching Ringer in the fall? Source

- Sarah Michelle Gellar got a warm welcome at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday from her massive "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" fan base, but the actress was on-hand to promote her new CW series, "Ringer."
"When you have a show like Buffy that was so perfect, you're not looking for a show to top it. You're not looking for show that's completely different," Gellar said during a panel, Entertainment Weekly reports. "We wouldn't exist without fans. We wanted to come back and do a show that fans would love that would be different but still exciting."
The actress is set to play twins in the drama, which marks the actresses return to television after eight years and was officially picked up by the CW in May.
Gellar told fans at Comic-Con that even though she did her own stunts on "Buffy," producers wouldn't let her get too physical in her new role.
"On 'Buffy,' I could just go through a wall," Gellar said. "When we were doing this sequence [for 'Ringer'], we had stunt doubles, and I was like, 'for what? Why do I have a stunt double? I was like, this is weird'" Gellar admitted that there were a few things her new characters have that Buffy didn't though, "I got to shoot a gun and Buffy never got a gun. Yesterday, I had a skill saw, and that thing, I did not like. I never want to use that again."
On the show, Gellar plays Bridget, a recovering addict who goes on the run after witnessing a murder. Bridget later assumes the identity of Siobhan, her wealthy but estranged twin sister, after Siobhan mysteriously disappears. Bridget quickly learns that her sister had her own shocking secrets.
"At the end of the day, it's a character study about twin sisters and the nature of sibling rivalry," creator Eric Charmelo said during the panel, E! Online reports. "It's about identity, and redemption, and revenge. And just when you think you've figured something out, we're going to throw a wrench into the equation and take it on a completely different tangent. It keeps things fresh."
Since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" left the airwaves in 2003, Gellar has been working in films with roles in "The Grudge" series, "Southland Tales" and voice work for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." The actress married Freddie Prinze Jr. in September 2001 and gave birth to a daughter, Charlotte Prinze, in September 2009.
"I have the greatest fans in the world, and I loved my show. I think sometimes, too, you need that time to understand that it was a cultural phenomenon, a legacy," Geller explained to Entertainment Weekly when asked why she waited so long to return to television. "I want to honor those people who were so good to me and show them something worthy of their time and worthy of them. I think it was worth the wait."
The pilot for the drama was initially made for CBS and was announced in January, however, the network passed on the project and it was later picked up by CBS' sister network, The CW. The CW was formerly The WB but merged with the CBS owned network UPN in 2006. Both of those previous networks aired "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

Ringer Look Into The Series Ringer season 1 marks Sarah Michelle Gellar's highly-anticipated return to network television. The beloved cult heroine (formerly of Buffy the Vampire Slayer) stars as twin sisters Bridget and Siobhan, whose lives are more than a little complicated. Bridget is lying low in protective custody as she prepares to testify against a powerful crime boss, when she spooks and flees to find her sister in New York. But when sis Siobhan goes missing, Bridget decides to assume her sister's identity in order to stay under the radar, not knowing that Siobhan has plenty of her own problems to content with. The series also stars Ioan Gruffudd, Kristoffer Polaha, and Lost's Nestor Carbonell.
What to Expect on Ringer Season 1:
One hurdle in Siobhan's life that Bridget will have to tackle is her twin's many suitors. Gruffudd plays Siobhan's husband, Polaha her lover, and Justin Bruening has been cast as another man interested in the wealthy woman. And if her sister's messy love life is not enough to deal with, Bridget will also inherit Siobhan's step-daughter, a role that was recently recast.

But Siobhan is not the only one with multiple men in her life. Nestor Carbonell plays Bridget's FBI handler, a man supposedly on the side of good but who may have some unpleasant secrets of his own. And one can only hope Bridget's AA sponsor (played by Mike Colter) will make his way to NYC and help Bridget come to terms with the many troubles she has acquired. Not to forget that previously mentioned crime boss Bridget is running from.
5 Things We Learned from the 'Ringer' Comic-Con Panel >>
Though the series is full of mysterious, one potential issue is addressed right out of the gate when it is revealed that Siobhan did not tell anyone in her life that she has a twin, so there is no reason for her loved ones to suspect an identity swap. But one mystery that will not be solved early on is what the twins are really after.
Ringer's executive producers teased that Ringer season 1 will see one twin seeking revenge while the other searches for redemption but that both characters would be shrouded in moral ambiguity. However, with the creators said to have three-year plan mapped out for the show, we should be getting many of our questions answered -- eventually.
While the thriller aspects and shades of grey are certainly a selling point, most of the buzz around Ringer season 1 has been about the show's lead. It has been said that, between flashbacks and one sister posing as another, Sarah Michelle Gellar will actually be playing five characters instead of just the two, giving viewers as much SMG as they could want after the fan favorite's eight-year television hiatus.
Ringer season 1 will premiere on the CW at 9pm on Tuesday, September 13.

'Ringer' Casts 'Veronica Mars' Star in a Recurring Role
In its ongoing attempt to lure in the obsessed fans of every cult TV show ever, Ringer has cast Veronica Mars and Moonlight actor Jason Dohring in a recurring role.
According to a report from EW.com, Dohring will play the part of Mr. Carpenter, a high school teacher. Siobhan Martin, the rich one of the twins both played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, will come across Carpenter via her troubled stepdaughter, Juliet (played by Zoey Deutch). There is no word on how many episodes we can expect for Jason Dohring.
Although he has appeared as a guest star on shows as varied as Party Down, Lie to Me and CSI, Jason Dohring is best known for two roles: Logan Echolls on Veronica Mars and Josef Kostan on Moonlight. Both characters fell distinctly into the category of "bad boy," which makes one wonder if the upcoming Ringer role will have the same direction.
Could Mr. Carpenter prove to be a love interest for Gellar's Bridget (as she masquerades in twin-sister Siobhan's life)? That could be a very fun complication.
With this new casting, it's definitely looking like Ringer could turn out to be a haven for obsessed fans everywhere. Sarah Michelle Gellar's starring role of course brings in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer contingent. But the show also stars such actors as Nestor Carbonell -- the enigmatic and un-aging Richard Alpert on Lost -- and Kristoffer Polaha -- the star of such quickly-canceled fare as Life Unexpected, Valentine, North Shore and Miss Guided. Tara Summers (who played Katie Lloyd on Boston Legal) and Ioan Gruffudd (the star of the Fantastic Four movies) are additional co-stars.
Basically, all Ringer needs is to cast the Cigarette-Smoking Man from The X-Files and one of the Star Trek captains, and they'll have all of the crazy fan bases covered.
That would actually be pretty cool.
Ringer will debut on Tuesday, September 13 at 9pm on The CW. Source
