Venez nous faire part de vos impressions sur la saison 2. Et profitez-en pour nous donner le titre de l'épisode que vous préférez (et le pourquoi ^^).

Je l'aime bien mais je dirais que c'est celle que j'aime le moins, disons que j'aime bien l'histoire générale de la saison et aussi le final mais j'ai pas vraiment d'épisode chéri. Je dirais que j'aime particulièrement Retrouvailles et j'adore l'hôtel du mal et Première impression mais voilà, j'ai pas d'épisode chouchou et choisir un épisode particulier à regarder dans la saison 2 ça me pose toujours un gros dilemme !

J'ai apprécié le retour de Darla. Je n'ai pas vraiment d'épisode préféré mais je dois dire que j'ai adoré la détermination d'Angel à retrouver Cordy à la fin de la saison.

J'ai bien aimé, surtout la dernière partie mais c'est loin d'être ma préférée.
Je trouve que le côté sombre d'angel dans cette saison, dure trop longtemps.
Mais j'aime bien le rapprochement de Gunn avec cordy et wesley.
Et puis angel se rattrape bien à la fin. Il fait très attention à Cordélia, il s'inquiète beaucoup pour elle.
J'ai pas vraiment un épisode favori, c'est surtout des passages.

J'ai bien aimé cette saison mais dans les 5 c'est celle que j'ai le moin aimé. J'ai moin accroché qu'aux autres saisons.

C'est aussi mon cas,mais j'ai un petit coup de coeur pour Sa majesté Cordélia et Fin de règne.
Charisma était éblouissante.

Car je trouve aussi que le coté sombre d'Angel a duré trop longtemps et je n'aime pas quand l'équipe est séparée!!

Saison que j'aime beaucoup, j'adore la descente aux enfers d'Angel, et comment il fait tout pour se faire accepter a nouveau par ses amis! Le final a Pylea est super, d'ailleurs c'est mon épisode préferé!!

J'ai mi c'était bien mais j'en préfère une autre elle est vraiment bien cette saison mais ma préférée reste la 3ème. J'aime l'arrivée de Lorne qui met encore plus d'humour dans la série. Angel qui passe du côté sombre je n'ai pas trop aimé je sais pas j'ai du mal. J'adore voir Darla en humaine puis quand elle fait un carnage avec Drusilla. J'adore quand Angel essaye à tout prix de se faire pardonner. Tous les épisodes à Pyléa c'est génial !

j'ai trouvé que la descente aux enfers d'angel étaient très bien mené, qu'ils ont su montré la complexité de la relation entre angel et darla et aussi son côté obsessionnel.
J'ai trouvé aussi très intéressant de voir où était la limite entre le bien et le mal
Les scènes du trio était fantastique, j'ai adoré l'évolution de leur amitié, leurs liens serrés et le retour d'angel
Leur lien ont été d'autant plus fort après la révélation d'angel on découvre un angel qui s'humanise vraiment et j'adore cet angel
Sans parler du cangel qui est fantastique

C'était bien, mais j'en préfère une autre. J'en suis fan, mais j'ai toujours eu une légère préférence pour la saison 3.

La descente aux enfers d'Angel est énorme, on découvre une nouvelle facette du personnage. Il n'a jamais été aussi complexe, et c'est savoureux.
Aussi, on assiste au retour de Darla, qu'on redécouvre totalement. Elle est passée de nunuche à un personnage merveilleusement complexe. La relation Angel/Darla est très intéressante et nous propose d'excellentes scènes très émouvantes. J'ai trouvé leur relation très très bien menée du début à la fin, tout est très cohérent.

Parallèlement, le trio Wes/Gunn/Cordy se rapproche et nous donne lieu à des scènes mémorables telles le mythique "We are the champions" où ils sont totalement saouls

Quant à Cangel, c'est pas leur meilleure saison, mais j'adore qu'ils aient des hauts et des bas. Cordy aura vraiment vu le pire d'Angel, et a quand même su le pardonner par la suite.
Oh et je tiens à dire que j'adore l'arc final à Pyléa. Pour un final, c'est pas extraordinaire, mais ça me plait beaucoup d'aller visiter la planète natale de mon cher Lorne

Season Two is something like a television perfect storm. It is what happens when, after a haphazard first season filled with clumsy anthology one-shots and utterly forgettable guest characters (Jhiera of Oden Tal, anyone?), a series finally finds its thematic center. And 1.19 "Five By Five" through 1.22 "To Shanshu in L.A." serve exactly that purpose, establishing AtS as a series about atonement and fighting the good fight in the face of the End Times.

The first episode, 2.01 "Judgment", establishes the complexities of this situation. This isn't the kind of mission that is easy, like it might have been in an earlier ideal time when morality was more black-and-white. The apocalypse is near, and shit is getting real. When Angel kills Kamal the Prio Motu, he realizes that he too is a demon that anyone in their right mind would assume is evil. He realizes that just as easily as he snuffed out Kamal, someone else could snuff him out. And in learning that not every demon can just be put up on a blackboard and marked off like a to-do list, he comes to understand the mission as a constant process instead of a series of specific triumphs.

1.20 "Sanctuary" boldly has the series (through Angel) make a firm break from its parent show; when Angel tells Buffy to "get out of [his] city", he is declaring AtS's agency as a program entirely differentiated from BtVS, with its own thematic context. The first half of Season Two brilliantly underlines this by distancing Angel further from the epic teen romance that defined his character on Buffy.

Reintroducing Darla is genius, as is using her as something of a mouthpiece to deconstruct the Buffy/Angel relationship. She knows Angel better than anyone, and while she may be bitter and personally invested, judging by Angel's reaction to her presence she isn't all that off base when she tells him that "Buffy wasn't love; she was just new." If Buffy was, to Angel's subconscious, just a morally acceptable Darla substitute -- as Darla implies in 2.05 "Dear Boy" and the false T'ish Magev reasserts in 2.06 "Guise Will Be Guise" -- then in retrospect Angel was never really a part of the BtVS cast in the first place; not in the way we thought he was, in any event.

This is an immensely liberating realization for the character. It allows him to divorce himself from his past and operate entirely in the framework of this new series. It allows him a real and true character arc separate from Buffy's. Most importantly, it allows him to be a real person with real flaws instead of the magical mysterious boyfriend. Season Two is largely concerned with the idea -- championed in most Tim Minear scripts -- that having a soul doesn't necessarily make Angel a good person. 2.02 "Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been?" is the first script to really explore this, and then 2.10 "Reunion" and the resultant arc push this idea to its greatest potential levels.

Julie Benz as Darla is just the right mix of vulnerable and vicious, and her ability to switch between vampire Darla and syphilitic human Darla at the drop of a hat is amazing. This character -- so vital to Angel's story -- was just a pale one-dimensional sidenote on BtVS, and here she blossoms into one of the most compelling characters on either show.

Most importantly, she comes across as truly dangerous. It makes sense when Holtz opines in Season Three that Darla, and not Angelus, was the more unpredictable threat. Darla refuses to be tamed. Only The Master has ever been able to domesticate her, and he was her sire; that's not like other relationships, as Holland Manners ultimately learns.

And let's talk about Holland Manners for a moment, because the elevator sequence in 2.15 "Reprise" is one of the most amazing things ever to happen in the entirety of AtS. Holland is a character without a fandom, as far as I have seen; this makes some sense, as he is both evil and not all that sexually appealing, and villains with big fan followings are usually the sexy ones. But Holland is the exact sort of evil that AtS illustrates most brilliantly: the evil that men do. Over on BtVS, Mayor Wilkins was a genteel man who was, by nature, evil. But it's impossible to know just quite what he was like before he started selling his soul piece by piece to demons and losing his humanity; Holland Manners is every bit as human as anyone else. He simply knows his place in the world, and that place is serving the forces of evil.

Because evil is human. The capacity for evil would not exist without the human race. Demons are amoral and predatory by nature; humans choose to do evil, and that is all the more terrifying. When Holland shows Angel the true nature of the Home Office, what he does is take the context of AtS so far beyond the 'let's slay demons' moral framework of BtVS that the older show starts to look like child's play. This is the adult drama. This is a fantasy that gets at the real, in a way Buffy never could and, frankly, wasn't meant to.

I could go on for days about Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn in this season. Their friendship is amazing to watch. Each represents a different way of regarding the mission: Cordelia is pragmatic rationality, Wesley is moral intellectualism, and Gunn is guarded emotional response. Together they are a powerful whole and exactly the team Angel needs when he chooses to do what's right. One of my major issues with Season Three by comparison is that the addition of Fred to the proceedings complicates everything while not adding much to the dynamic. There's no particular need for Fred, and while she's not a bad character per se she really destroys the honest and wonderful bond that has developed between these three people over 30+ episodes. I think that's a shame.

Stephanie Romanov and Christian Kane are also fantastic in this season as Lilah Morgan and Lindsey McDonald. Well, Romanov is fantastic and Kane manages to keep up, I should say. But really, the banter between them marks the first time that villains on either BtVS or AtS have been presented as so very human. The closest thing was the relationship between the Mayor and Faith in BtVS Season Three, but even there the Mayor was a monster and Faith was undergoing something of a psychotic break. Lilah and Lindsey are decidedly human and keep it cool, rational, and effortlessly vicious both toward their foes and one another. It's a delight to watch.

Then there's the Pylea arc. I think this arc runs a little too long, frankly, and it has a lot of inconsistencies that bug me (why do the Pyleans all speak English?!?!). At the end of the day, though, it is just a veritable feast of character development, and that's always fun to watch. Cordelia and Wesley, especially, really come into their own in these episodes, with Cordelia coming to more fully understand her role as visionary and Wesley learning that if you are going to lead, you must be willing to sacrifice.

Season Two is the season that made me fall in love with this show. I'm grateful.
